The Bastille Room represents the historic charm of The Great House.
In the separate living room, exposed brickwork and original Tudor beams evoke the feel of a country home. The bedroom has a 6’ foot wide Tudor bed, ensuite bathroom, separated sitting room and all modern amenities. Part of the 14th century chimney can be seen in the bathroom.
The Bastille was once a fortress in Paris which played an important role in conflicts of France in the 18th century. Its design was also widely copied to other locations in France and in England. Sadly all that now remains of this impressive building is the stone foundations.
