Spring is upon us…

The winter, I dare to say, is almost behind us and we begin to enjoy longer days, milder temperatures, seasonal food, and of course, hopefully, the reopening of pubs and restaurants as well as the return of visitors to lovely Lavenham.

A couple of days ago, someone, I met told me “From my windows, I can see the high street and it is always deserted”, and it is true we could say it feels like a ghost town but soon we hope this will change. People will be pleased to have some freedom back, shops will be allowed to re-open, life will return and we will begin again to enjoy what we took for granted in the past.

At The Great House, we have been busy working, upgrading our electric system, improving our fire alarm system and painting but now it is all about cooking, what we excel at, starting first with our Chef’s Table at Home offering before the serious business of re-opening and welcoming you back through our door in May.

Our Chef’s Table at Home will become a permanent offering and we are determined we will propose interesting seasonal food at competitive prices. Cooked with style and passion, I hope it will be the type of food you always wanted a takeaway and, as we are good listeners, please tell us what you think or what you would like and we will do our best to help.

If you have a voucher or wish to make a booking for a special celebration or simply make a date to enjoy returning to a restaurant, please email us as we do man the office every Monday and for a short period of time on other days of the week. We will be pleased to help you and assist to make your requirements really special.

It has been a long, difficult, and challenging year for The Great House and staff but also for our industry at large. However, we hope to be back soon with renewed vigour and excitement to bring our restaurant to a new level during 2021 and allow you the opportunity to discover the best of French cuisine in our delightful corner of Suffolk.
