COVID-19 Temporary Closure

Letter from the Managing Director

Dear Friend,

The decision to close the Great House ahead of government initiative was an easy decision for us to take.

One of our staff showed symptoms COVID-19 and therefore our duty of care for the benefit of everyone, both customers and staff, made it fairly simple to take such an important decision.

I am happy to report that all staff are in self-isolation and no ones health has deteriorated so hopefully it was a false alarm.

The Great House is small business like many affected, usually they are the ones who suffer the most, and closing down will affect us in what was an already challenging environment for our industry.

However, all of us at the Great House, aim not only to survive but to come back stronger with renewed energy and determination.

We will need not only the support of our local customers but from beyond too.

I want, together with my very dedicated team of kitchen and front of house professionals, to thank you for the opportunity you have given us in the past to welcome you as our customers and for many, as our friends.

I would also say that all of us are very proud to be part of the fabric of Lavenham and wear the badge even if the Great House employ French, Spanish and those native of the UK.

I hope you will consider coming back to see us when we re-open, we will turn that energy and determination into dishes and service of the highest quality.

I hope you take great care of yourselves during this difficult time and thank you for your past support. We look forward to seeing you again hopefully soon.
