Food does not need to be an expression of fashion but, rather, a tasteful and unpretentious expression of flavours, characterised by the availability of seasonal ingredients’.
Our environmental policy is to serve food of the highest quality that is fresh, in season and as local as possible. All our shellfish and fish are from sustainable provenance. Our menu changes every day according to deliveries.
Government restrictions have changed, however, our team are dedicated to ensuring that your experience at The Great House remains as safe as possible, ensuring your enjoyment and comfort is at the heart of our service.
With the restrictions on mask wearing lifted, we would like to ensure all of our guests that our staff will continue to wear masks. We would also like to encourage our guests to do the same whilst entering and moving around The Great House, as many of our staff are not yet double vaccinated.

To secure your restaurant reservation, guests booking for reservations Wednesday to Sunday, for lunch and dinner, are required to pay a non-refundable £25 fee per person no later than 72 hours before their reservation date. The deposit fee may be transferred to another date if the table is resold within the 72-hour notice period but will remain non-refundable. If you do not pay the fee 72 hours before your reservation, and we are unable to contact you, we will assume you no longer want to continue with your reservation booking and your table will be resold.
All reservations made within 72 hours of reservation date, Wednesday to Sunday, will be required to pay a non-refundable £25 fee per person at the time of booking.
The £25 per person deposit fee secures your reservation and is a prepayment against your final bill.
Failure to arrive for your reservation will result in the loss of your deposit fee.
A reduction in numbers on arrival of your reservation, without prior notice of 72 hours, will result in the loss of your deposit fee for missing members of your party.
For tables of more than 5 people, for bookings made for Wednesday to Sunday, for lunch and dinner, are now required to pay a non-refundable fee of £25 fee per person at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
The £25 per person deposit fee is a prepayment against your final bill. Failure to arrive for your reservation will result in the loss of your deposit fee.
Failure to arrive without notice will incur an additional charge of £50 per person on your card.
Your card details are held in a secured PCI-DSS compliant vault.
We have an extensive a delicious wine list for you to choose from, however, if you would like to bring your own wine, please be aware their is a corkage fee of £50 (includes VAT).

Due to limited staff available, we are currently operating on reduced covers and seating until further notice. Your table is yours for the entire duration of our service time so you can relax, catch up with old friends, and enjoy your dining experience with us!
As The Great House is closed for dinner on a Sunday evening as well as all day for dining on a Monday and Tuesday, however, our team are happy to recommend alternative places to dine for any guests staying at The Great House on these days.
Our food and drinks are prepared in food areas where cross contamination may occur and our menu descriptions do not include all ingredients used in the cooking process. Our menus are updated daily with different ingredients and produce due to seasonal and supplier availability. If you have any questions, allergies or intolerances, or you require our allergen information about specific dishes, please let us know before booking and at the time of your visit.
